Why would I want to use a Broker?
A qualified broker like me can help you find comprehensive coverage from a reputable company that best fits your needs and budget. I will explain those confusing terms and make sure you understand the policy you are about to purchase. If you don't use me, I urge you to look for a broker who belongs to the Colorado Association of health Underwriters.
Does it cost more to use an Broker?
Not in Colorado. Insurance carriers must file their rates with the Colorado Division of Insurance. The rates are the same whether you apply directly with a carrier or use the services of a reputable broker like me.
How do Brokers get paid?
Brokers are typically paid on a percentage basis by the insurance carriers on individual plans and on a per member basis on group plans. I make a higher percentage on first year commissions than for renewals in the individual market. Commissions remain steady for the life of the policy in the group market. Although brokers are paid by insurance companies, good brokers work as advocates for their clients not for the carriers.
What if I have a problem after I'm covered on a plan?
I will be your first contact for service and/or claims issues. You will call or email me and I will work with the carrier to correct any errors or make any changes for you.
